Selangor FC host Penang FC at Stadium MBPJ on Saturday, 17 October 2026. Kick-off is 8.15pm. The club fixture list and Penang's own newsroom both put the match at the council ground in Kelana Jaya, not Shah Alam.
The ground is on Jalan Stadium 7/15, SS7, postcode 47301. Taman Bandaran Kelana Jaya sits next to it. Those seven ex-mining lakes are why locals already come to this corner of PJ on weekends. The football is extra. Paradigm Mall is the shopping centre after the park, not the reason the Red Giants play here.
Selangor still treat Stadium Shah Alam as the long-term home. That stadium is being rebuilt. Until it opens, Liga Super nights land in Petaling Jaya. This is MBPJ, SS7, next to the Kelana Jaya lakes.
What changed on the stands
The seats and the red running track are this year's work. On 31 July 2026, then-mayor Datuk Mohamad Zahri Samingon opened an RM14.2 million upgrade on his last day in the job. Jade Chan in The Star recorded the line items: RM3.26 million on the track, RM1.03 million on a roof and walkway for visiting fans, RM664,000 on a new LED board, plus power, drainage, lighting and landscape. Capacity is listed at 10,000.
Zahri said the money was taxpayers' money and that the stadium would go back to schools and community football after Sukma. Sukma ran in August. The Super League season is now using the same pitch. Low Boon Tat's photographs from that week show the new visitor seats looking across the track at the timber roof of the main stand, with MBPJ still spelled out in yellow on the red terrace.
Saturday, then the next home dates
This is matchday five. Selangor's fixtures page has them third, 12 points from four games, four wins. Penang's 14 October note says they are looking for a first away win of the campaign.
Last home night was 11 October, the FA Cup quarter-final second leg. Selangor lost 2-3 to Star City FC and still went through 6-4 on aggregate. The club thanked 3,757 people in the stands and said the performance had to improve. Saturday is that next match.
Tickets are on Tickethotline. The listing's published offer starts at RM10. Buy from the club link. A 2026/27 team card is sold on the same site if you already use one for home games.
Nearest rail is LRT Kelana Jaya. From the station you still have a stretch of SS7 to cover. Grab is what most people will take after 8pm. If you eat first, Paradigm is close. The lake loop is a daylight thing. Do not plan a jog at half-time.
The club calendar keeps two more league nights at this ground in the window: Star City FC on Sunday 1 November at 9pm, and another home on 5 December. Friday 23 October is an FA Cup date against Kuching City. Tickethotline already prints Stadium MBPJ. The club fixtures page still says venue to be confirmed. Wait for the club to pin that Friday before you travel.
