I came here today and was served by a Chinese auntie. I asked about the price to alter my blouse and skirt. She asked me to try them on and then pinned the parts that needed to be taken in. …

I had a disappointing experience at Za Altera in Paradigm Mall recently, which has unfortunately led me to decide not to return, despite being a loyal customer for many years along with my family and friends. The two Chinese aunties who usually handle my alterations were as sweet and professional as always. They made the interaction pleasant, helped me pick up my altered pants, and engaged in friendly conversation. I've always appreciated their excellent work and kind characters, one is fantastic at alterations, and the other is consistently nice. However, during this visit, while I was signing the book as requested by one of the Chinese aunties and chatting with them, a Malay aunty wearing a hijab interjected out of nowhere with a rude and condescending comment about my appearance. She implied that I was dressed like I was working but don't actually have a job, which was completely unprovoked and disrespectful!! I wasn't even speaking to her! I paused in shock, as I had done nothing to warrant such a personal remark. One of the Chinese aunties kindly asked if I was working today, and I explained that yes, I had just finished my work and i came here to stop by and pick up my altered pants. The Malay aunty then inserted herself further into the conversation as if she knew me. I responded calmly, stating that "I own my own business and I am sorry to disappoint you" looking at her fake face disregarding her assumptions. The Chinese aunty and I shared a light laugh at her surprised reaction, and I thanked the two Chinese aunties before leaving. It's a shame because the service from the Chinese aunties has kept us coming back for so long. But this Malay aunty's unwarranted opinions and rude attitude soured the entire experience. If management continues to employ thus Malay Aunty staff who make disrespectful comments about customers' appearances without provocation, it will drive people away. I strongly recommend addressing this issue, as I'll be advising my family and friends to take their alteration needs elsewhere. Such behavior is unacceptable and harms the business's reputation. I felt really uncomfortable with her remarks about my appearance and she is very toxic to the company. Please take the necessary actions towards her. No customers deserve that kind of service, it was very unprofessional of that particular Malay Aunty. Rude and biadab nak mampos, kurang ajar!
