MBPJ Bukit Gasing Trail Challenge 2026: 10km from Taman Jaya on 25 Oct

The MBPJ Bukit Gasing Trail Challenge is a 10km trail race on Sunday, 25 October 2026. Start and finish sit in Taman Jaya Park at 1 Jalan 10/7, next to LRT Taman Jaya. Gun time is 7.30am. Cut-off is 11.00am, 3.5 hours. All Trail Project Event Management is running it. Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya is listed as supporter. This is a park and forest leftover, not a mall atrium with a logo wall.

Registration closed at midnight on 30 September 2026. If you are not already on the list, you are not running. The organiser still allows a bib transfer with a month of notice and a RM30 fee. No refunds. Do not turn up at 7am hoping for a walk-up slot.

Ticket2U and CheckPointSpot both list one distance: 10km plus or minus, about 300 metres of elevation. Six age bands, taken as of 31 December 2026. Men and women Open 18 to 39, Senior 40 to 49, Veteran 50 and above. Top three in each band get cash and a trophy, with ID checks at the prize table. Finish inside the cut-off and you get the medal. DNF or DQ does not.

The Star covered the same pairing in August 2025. Taman Jaya as the flag-off, Bukit Gasing as the hill, All-Trail Projects on the ground, MBPJ on the banner. That edition also relaunched the park after works. This 2026 race is a new ticketed 10km, not a copy of the 2025 endurance series times. Treat the 2025 piece as proof the course pairing is real, then trust Ticket2U for 25 October.

The course map on the ticket page leaves Taman Jaya, crosses toward Jalan Gasing, and loops the forest around Bukit Gasing and Pantai Hill. GPX and a detailed elevation profile are still marked to be shared soon on the listing, so do not pretend you have kilometre splits. What you do have is the start village in a city park, then a jungle section steep enough that the organiser warns about fitness in the terms. This is not a flat lakeside jog.

Drop bags go at the race village checkpoint. Label them with your bib, hand them over at least an hour before flag-off, collect by noon on Sunday. The organiser will not babysit phones. Medical staff and an ambulance are on standby. Group personal accident cover is short-period only. Bring your own insurance if you care.

Spectators who are not racing still have a reason to come. Taman Jaya is the park PJ uses on a normal weekend. Lake, playground, museum in the same grounds, though the museum stays closed Friday to Sunday on the 2026 MBPJ hours. Watch the start, then walk the lake. Do not follow runners onto the trail without a bib. MBPJ already summons illegal parking on Jalan Gasing. Take the LRT to Taman Jaya or park in the park, not on the verge at the forest arch.

After you finish, Amcorp Mall and Dataran PJ are across the road. Wat Chetawan is a short Grab from the same LRT. SS2 makan is the other direction. The race is done by late morning. Heat on Bukit Gasing after 10am is the usual PJ problem. Start early because the gun is early.

If you transferred a bib, keep the email trail. Race packs and sizing for the event tee were locked at registration. No exchange. Check the event Facebook page the night before for kit and marshal notes. The Ticket2U terms still carry a paste error naming Negeri Sembilan forestry. Ignore that line. This race is MBPJ, Taman Jaya, Bukit Gasing.
