Sunway Lagoon is running Nights of Fright 12 as APE-OCALYPSE every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7.30pm to 11.30pm, through 7 November 2026. The park sits in Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya. Tickets start at RM138. This is the 12th year of the haunt, and it is the one PJ Halloween that actually fills a whole night rather than a mall atrium with cardboard bats.
The regular Night Park ticket does not get you in. Sunway Lagoon has blacked out Captain Quack Land on NOF dates, so a cheap evening pass bought by habit will bounce at the gate. Buy the event ticket on the Sunway Super App, Klook, or the official Sunway Lagoon site. Annual pass holders still pay separately.
What APE-OCALYPSE actually is
The headline is a mash of Mad Max wreckage and Planet of the Apes, according to Sudden Impact Entertainment founder Lynton V. Harris, who has designed the haunt with Sunway Lagoon for years. Michelle Soong, general manager of business and marketing at Sunway Theme Parks, called it a new creative direction rather than a coat of paint on last year's houses.
The Rakyat Post counted nine haunted attractions. World of Buzz, working from the park's own briefing, named the line-up that matters if you are picking a queue:
- Yokai Road, Japanese folklore creatures
- The Freezer: Fresh Meat, a meat-processing plant
- Little Shop of Horrors: Manga UV 3D, ultraviolet manga staging
- The (Not-So) Wonderful Wizard of OZ, a sour fairytale rewrite
- The Romeos & Juliet, K-pop obsession and murder
- Horrorwood Wax Studios, wax figures and horror icons
- Return to Silent Hill, the foggy streets again
- Scarytales Immersive Theatre: Pontianak vs. Pocong: Origins, Malaysian and regional ghosts on a stage rather than a corridor
If you only do one house, do Pontianak vs. Pocong. The rest of the park is Hollywood, manga and K-pop. That theatre is the bit that belongs to this country. It is also the piece first-timers underestimate because it is billed as a show, not a jump-scare tunnel.
Tickets, extras, and what to skip
Published rates for 2026:

- RM236, admission plus an express pass plus the same crisps
Express is worth it on Friday and Saturday after 8.30pm. Standard queues stack on the better-known houses. Sunday is slightly saner, still not empty in late October.
There are side gimmicks if you want them. Spend RM100 at selected F&B or retail and you can redeem a mini Daruma. Little Shop of Horrors has a photo booth that trades a social post for Venus flytrap seeds, terms apply. The Oracle Table offers free tarot. Trading cards exist. The first 50 guests who complete a set get a mystery gift. None of that is the reason to go. The houses are.
Age: the park has historically treated this as a 13-plus night. Small children will be miserable and you will be the person blocking a scare actor. Wear closed shoes. The sets are dark, the floors are wet, and you will walk a lot between houses. Last useful entry is well before 11.30pm if you want more than one attraction.
Getting there from the rest of PJ
Address: 3, Jalan PJS 11/11, Bandar Sunway, 47500 Petaling Jaya. The park is tied to Sunway Pyramid, so you can eat in the mall first and walk across. Do not park at Pyramid at 7pm on a Saturday and expect a bay near the doors.
Transit that actually works: BRT Sunway Line to Sunway Lagoon station. From Kelana Jaya LRT, Grab or bus across to Bandar Sunway. From 1 Utama, that is a 25 to 40 minute ride depending on the LDP. Grab from SS2 or Damansara Utama is simpler than driving if you are a group of three.
Dates left from today, 4 October 2026, are every remaining Friday, Saturday and Sunday until 7 November. Halloween weekend, 30 and 31 October plus 1 November, will sell out first. Buy before you leave the house.
Klook is the official ticketing partner. Visit Malaysia 2026 and Visit Selangor 2026 are listed as supporters, which is a long way of saying the state wants tourists in Bandar Sunway on weekend nights. Treat it as a PJ night out that happens to scare you, not a day-park add-on.
